Colby's 1st Day of Kindergarten

Today was Colby's big day. First day of Kindergarten!!! He woke up and was rearing to go. He got dressed, brushed his teeth and asked "Do I look good? I want to look Good for the girls" Jason and I walked him into his classroom, he found his cubbie and sat down. Of course I had to get a few pictures along the way. I thought I would be brave and not cry but it did not happen. The tears came down my face as I realized I no longer have a baby but a Big Boy!! We can not leave Jason out. All day so far he has been asking "What do you think he is doing now???"

Yesterday I asked Colby a few questions about his favorites at the age of 5 and here is what he said:

Height: 4 feet 1 inches

How many teeth has he lost: 2 lost but I have 2 that are wiggly
His pets: Max, Levi and Oh...forgot about Thomas my black goldfish and Flame my frog

Last Week Before Kindergarten

WOW, what a week. Colby is getting ready to start kindergarten. We went shopping for new school clothes and school supplies. 10 glue sticks, 2 bottles of glue, 3 boxes of crayons.........I remember the day when it was a short list and you had to purchase items for yourself not the classroom. Times sure have changed.......On Thursday eveneing Jason and I had parent orientation (where to park, where not to drive, where the kids will be.......so on and so on...) Nana was gracious and picked up Colby and took him out to eat for dinner and ice cream for a his last Nana and Colby outing before school starts. Friday was his big day. "Meet the Teacher"! His teacher is Ms. Goldman. A young energetic teacher. We sorted all of the school supplies and then we went into his classroom. We introduced Colby to Ms. Goldman and he of course was shy and went behind me. We walked around his classroom, found his seat and his cubbie. I asked him what he thought of Ms. Goldman and he said "she is pretty" already checking out the teacher.....lol.........

Beach Vacation

Finally, after 12 plus hours we made it to Orange Beach, AL!! We are at the beach with Granddaddy, Momo, Uncle Justin, Uncle Zach, Becca (U. Z's girlfriend) Aunt Lindsay and Cousin Teegan.

What all did we do??? Well, we had a week of fun on the beach. This was Colby's first time to really enjoy the beach (he was 2 1/2 his last beach vacation). We played in the sand, hit the waves, went out to eat, went fishing (not much caught) and went to the Naval Flight Museum. Colby says he now wants to be a Blue Angel! When Colby was not at the beach he was checking out chicks with his Uncle Justin whom was teaching him a trick or two. He enjoyed his time with Uncle Justin sooooooo much. He is now wanting to take a trip to Austin to hang out with him.

Oh me....you ask....I had a bit of an incident. Let's see as Jason would say I looked as if I came right out of a cartoon........I took a hard fall on Wed. of the trip and ended up in the ER with a huge gash in my right hand. I was baned from any type of water activities for the remainder of the trip. I took it in stride and a little of pain killers :) but continued to have a good time.
